I had a court date and I appeared in court. My lawyer told me that I could leave because my case wasn't going on that day and I would receive a court notice in the mail for my next court date. Its six months later and I still haven't received that notice. Will I get a bench warrant? Can my case get dismissed due to a statute of limitations? What if my lawyer waived my speedy trial rights?
You should contact your county courthouse and make sure that you don't have a bench warrant. Contact your lawyer and ask them why you don't have a new court date. If your lawyer waived your speedy trial rights, your case will not be thrown out because of this delay.
